Ablakwa Shares Update On Petition To CHRAJ

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, says the Commission on Human Rights Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has demanded additional information about his allegations against Rev Victor Kusi Boateng, an Executive Council Member of the Board of Trustees of National Cathedral Ghana.

Ablakwa accused the man of God of a conflict of interest and petitioned the Commission in January for investigations and further actions.

The legislator earlier revealed the National Cathedral Trustees made a payment of GHC2.6 million to one JNS Talent Centre Limited, a company co-owned by three persons identified as Johannes Eshun, Sheila Eshun and Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

His investigations, he said, revealed that Rev Kusi Boateng is the same person behind the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi who co-owns JNS.

“Clearly, Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng AKA Kwabena Adu Gyamfi sat on the Cathedral board and literally paid his own company a staggering GHS2.6 million for no work done. When the siphoning was completed, they captured the same as “Contractors Mobilization” and presented it to Parliament hoping that they would legitimize the dubious transaction and therefore get away with murder.”

On January 16, 2023, Ablakwa petitioned CHRAJ about this in accordance with Article 218 of the 1992 Constitution to investigate the “odious conflict of interest”.

In an update on April 13, he disclosed the investigation by CHRAJ was ongoing.

“CHRAJ has formally written to me indicating they are continuing with investigations into my Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng/Kwabena Adu Gyamfi conflict of interest petition.”

He also revealed the Commission requested additional documentation which he “promptly and dutifully submitted” on March 9, 2023.

Meanwhile, the lawmaker has promised to resume serving the country with his discoveries on the Cathedral whose construction has stalled for some time now.

“Ghanaians should expect fresh series of “National” Cathedral Scandals in a few days,” he said in a Facebook post.
