Ghana, Poland Seek Stronger Economic Ties as New Ambassador Presents Credentials

Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable James Gyakye Quayson, MP, on Monday received the Open Letters of the Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Poland to Ghana, His Excellency Mr Michal Cygan, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The presentation of Open Letters is the first step before the formal presentation of credentials to the President, allowing the Ambassador-Designate to begin official duties.

During the meeting, Hon. Quayson acknowledged Poland’s historic contribution to Ghana’s socio-economic development.

He encouraged enhanced cooperation in industrial development, renewable energy, and investment, noting the need to expand trade relations beyond current levels.

“Ghana and Poland share long-standing relations, and there is room to deepen them, especially in areas that drive industrialisation and energy security,” Hon. Quayson said.

Ambassador-Designate Mr Michal Cygan expressed Poland’s interest in deepening economic cooperation with Ghana and exploring new opportunities in investment, technology, and sustainable development.

He indicated Poland’s readiness to partner with Ghanaian institutions and businesses to unlock mutually beneficial projects, particularly in renewable energy and industrial manufacturing.
