Ghana Passport Office Denies Issuing Diplomatic Passport to Fella Makafui

The Ghana Passport Application Centre has refuted claims that actress and entrepreneur Fella Makafui has been issued a Service or Diplomatic Passport.
In a public notice, the Centre described the reports as “blatant falsehoods” and urged the public to disregard them.
According to the statement, Fella Makafui holds and uses Ghana’s Ordinary Passport, the same travel document issued to every Ghanaian citizen.
“Fella Makafui holds and uses Ghana’s prestigious Ordinary Passport like every other Ghanaian and nothing more,” the Centre said.
The Passport Office cautioned individuals and media platforms against spreading misinformation for attention.
It urged the public to verify facts before publishing claims that could mislead Ghanaians.
Diplomatic and Service passports in Ghana are issued strictly to government officials, diplomats, and persons on official state business in line with the Passports and Travel Certificates Act.
Ordinary passports remain the standard document for regular citizens.
The Centre said it remains committed to transparency and accuracy in all passport-related matters.
