GFA Announces Tributes for Late Dominic Frimpong Ahead of Weekend Fixtures

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced special tributes to honour the memory of the late Dominic Frimpong this weekend across all domestic competitions.

In an official statement, the FA revealed that players and team officials will wear black armbands during matches as a mark of respect for the 20-year-old former Berekum Chelsea forward, who was on loan from Aduana FC.

The Association has also directed that a minute of silence will be observed before kick-off in selected matches this weekend. This includes all fixtures involving the six clubs in the MTN FA Cup semi-finals as well as the Women’s Premier League final.

The GFA has urged clubs, match officials and supporters to fully cooperate and observe the tributes in a solemn and respectful manner as the Ghanaian football family continues to mourn the tragic loss.

Dominic Frimpong’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through the local football community. The special gestures this weekend form part of broader efforts to honour the young striker’s memory.

May his soul continue rest in perfect peace.
