EOCO Arrests Over 200 Foreigners For Alleged Cybercrime and Human Trafficking

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has arrested 219 suspects for cybercrime and human trafficking.

The arrest was effected in a collaborative effort with the National Security and Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

This was under the “Rescue Shield” operation launched on March 5, 2025.

According to a statement by the Office, the foreign nationals were involved in cybercrime and human trafficking at Oyarifa in Accra.

The suspects, mostly young Nigerian males, were lured into Ghana with fake job promises and forced into illegal cyber activities.
