V/R: Fire Service Relocates Bee Swarm From School After Student and Teacher Stung
The Ghana National Fire Service has safely relocated a bee swarm from Vakpo Secondary Technical School in the North Dayi District of the Volta Region after a student and a teacher were stung and treated at a health facility.
According to the GNFS, the swarm had nested in the ceiling of the girls’ dormitory for several years.
It was disturbed during weeding activities around the dormitory, prompting the attack.
Personnel from the Anfoega Fire Station responded to the incident and carried out the relocation to remove the threat to students and staff.
The Service is urging school authorities to report bee infestations early, restrict access to affected areas, and avoid disturbing swarms to prevent future attacks.
