Black Stars Arrive in Rhode Island as World Cup Preparations Enter Final Phase

The Black Stars have touched down in the state of Rhode Island in the Northeastern United States, marking another important milestone in their build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The team arrived looking sharp and motivated after departing Cardiff following their 1-1 draw against Wales in Carlos Queiroz’s first game in charge.
The squad is now settled and fully focused on their remaining assignments as they prepare for the global tournament on North American soil.
With the players in high spirits and ready for action, the technical team led by Carlos Queiroz will use the coming days to assess the readiness of the squad and ensure they are ready to adapt well to the conditions.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia. They will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field in Toronto, before taking on England on June 23 and concluding the group stage against Croatia on June 27.
The arrival in Rhode Island signals the beginning of the final countdown for the four-time African champions. Fans back home will be hoping that this well-prepared squad can deliver a strong performance and finally progress beyond the group stage at the 2026 World Cup.
