Black Starlets Win UEFA U-16 Development Tournament

Ghana’s U16 team has won the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) U-17 tournament which was hosted in Serbia.

The tournament began on April 13, 2023, and featured countries including Ghana, Serbia, Switzerland and Spain.

The Black Starlet took on the home team, Serbia, in the opening on Thursday where it beat the team by 4:0.

This was followed by a 3:2 win against Spain on Saturday, April 15 and finally a 3-2 win against Switzerland on Tuesday, April 18.

A brace from Asumadu Ramsey and a goal from Debrah Afrim Bossman sealed the victory for Ghana today against Switzerland.

The Under-16 Development Tournament is organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to enable young footballers to experience international football.

The tournament was established in 2012, and since then 217 such tournaments were organised, with four national teams competing at each tournament.
