Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has been ranked among the top performers at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, placing 5th on the list of the best goalkeepers in the tournament so far.
The shot-stopper featured in all three of Ghana’s group stage matches. He played 45 minutes against Panama and went the full 90 minutes in the games against England and Croatia, delivering several crucial saves that helped the Black Stars keep clean sheets in two of those games.
The experienced goalie made the impressive list alongside established elites such as Paraguay’s Orlando Gill, England’s Jordan Pickford, Portugal’s Diogo Costa, Switzerland’s Gregor Kobel, and Cape Verde’s Vozinha.
The 33-year-old is also expected to start in goal when Ghana face Colombia in the Round of 32 on Saturday, July 4 at Arrowhead Stadium.
Benjamin Asare’s strong showing has been widely praised as one of the standout contributions to Ghana’s successful group stage campaign.
