Kotoko Confirms 3 New Signings

The Asante Kotoko has signed winger Johnson Owusu, midfielder Hubert Gyau and Francis Acquah.

The three new signings were confirmed in separate statements by the club.

Oppong is on a two-year contract and joins with a wealth of experience across Ghana and Europe.

He formerly played for Dreams FC, where he featured prominently in their historic run to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final, C.S. Marítimo in Portugal, FC Zlín in the Czech Republic, and KF Kukësi in Albania.

Gyau for his part was signed for four years.

The 20-year-old joins from Berekum Chelsea where he made a strong impression over the last two seasons.

“Gyau arrives as one of the hottest young talents in the Ghanaian top flight. Comfortable playing anywhere across the midfield, he brings composure, energy, and intelligence to the heart of the team.”

Meanwhile, Acquah is on a three-year deal from Bechem United, where he was a regular in his four seasons and made 94 league appearances.

“Acquah arrives in Kumasi to strengthen Asante Kotoko’s defensive options. Comfortable playing anywhere across the back line, he is a composed and intelligent defender, known for his sharp reading of the game and precise passing out from the back.”
