Asantehene Returns From Poland-Canada Trip

The Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has returned to Ghana following a working visit to Poland and Canada.

His Majesty arrived on June 21, 2026, and was welcomed at Prempeh I International Airport by a crowd led by Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, Asante Mamponghene, who acted as caretaker of Asanteman, and Nana Boakye Yam Ababio, Nkwantakesehene, who acted as caretaker of Kumasi in Otumfuo’s absence.

The welcoming party also included other traditional authorities and members of the Regional Security Council.

Traditional authorities, including Daasebre Otuo Siriboe, Juabenhene, and Nana Effah Appenteng, Bompatahene, accompanied His Majesty.

Poland
The King’s visit to Poland centred on the Top Charity Gala Auction 2026, a high-profile charity event organised by Omenaa Mensah and her husband, Rafał Brzoska.

The gala supports philanthropic projects in Ghana and assists thousands of people in Poland and beyond.

Other activities undertaken by the Asantehene included a tour of the Phenomena Gallery and the Orangery at Wilanów Palace, a golf event in Katowice, private meetings with Polish government officials and business leaders, as well as an engagement with the organisers of the Top Charity Gala at the Orangery of the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów.

Otumfuo ended the visit on May 31, 2026.

Canada
During a six-day visit to Canada, Otumfuo was the Guest of Honour at the Ghana-Canada World Cup Business Summit.

As part of the visit, Otumfuo held a breakfast business meeting, opened the Ghana Sports Village at Sankofa Square, led the Ghanaian delegation to support the Black Stars during the World Cup opening game between Ghana and Panama at BMO Field, and engaged the Asante community in Toronto.

His Majesty left Canada on the evening of June 20, 2026.
