Asantehene Begins Working Visit to Canada

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has commenced his four-day working visit to Canada.

His Majesty arrived in the North American country on Monday, June 15, 2026.

The King was warmly received upon arrival by H.E Myriam Montrat, Canada’s Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, Ghana’s High Commissioner to Canada, Mr Thomas Oppong-Peprah, former Chief of the Defence Staff of Ghana, alongside other distinguished guests.

Among the delegation of His Majesty are Nana Otuo Sereboe II, Juabenhene and Nana Effah Appenteng, Bompatamanhene.

The King is in Canada purposely to grace the Beyond the World Cup event organised by the Canada-Ghana Chamber of Commerce.

As part of the visit, Otumfuo will also hold a Breakfast Business Meeting, take part in the opening of the Ghana Sports Village, also known as Sankofa Square, engage with the Black Stars, and lead the Ghanaian delegation to support the match between Ghana and Panama at BMO Field.
