Kwabre East MCE Inaugrates Revenue Collection Task Force

The Kwabre East Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Joseph Amankwah, inaugurated an 11-member Revenue Collection Taskforce in his municipality on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Mamponteng Municipal Assembly.
The taskforce has been mandated to ensure revenue collection across a diverse range of sources to boost the Internally Generated Fund (IGF) for the Kwabre East Municipality.
“You are tasked with boosting revenue collection in the Municipality,” Hon. Amankwah emphasized.
Speaking with Opemsuo.com, Hon. Amankwah noted that the taskforce members are not police officers and should therefore be mindful of their limits while carrying out their duties.
“You are not police officers, so do not cross your boundaries,” he stressed.
He further cautioned them against involving themselves in land guard activities, instructing them to focus solely on the responsibilities assigned by the Assembly.
On his part, the MTTD Commander for the Kwabre East Municipality, ASP Francis Semana, explained that it is the duty of the police to guide the newly inaugurated taskforce to operate within their legal boundaries and maintain order.
He also reiterated the importance of avoiding any involvement in land guard activities and urged the taskforce to focus solely on their Assembly-assigned duties.
“Do not treat yourselves as land guards.”
The Revenue Head for the Kwabre East Municipality, Chief Alhassan Alugoli, advised taskforce members to perform their duties strictly under the directives of the Municipal Assembly.
“Use persuasive approaches to assist with revenue collection, not militant methods,” he stressed.
He further encouraged residents to pay their property taxes promptly to avoid penalties.
“Let us pay our property taxes to the Assembly to avoid facing any penalties,” he urged.
