29 Arrested Arise Ghana Demonstrators Granted Bail

The twenty-nine persons who were arrested by the Ghana Police Service on June 28, 2022, during the first day of the Arise Ghana Demonstration have been granted bail.

This was relayed by Sammy Gyamfi, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Communication Officer and a participant in the Arise Ghana Protest.

According to him, they were granted enquiry bail.

“Arrested Arise Ghana protesters granted Police enquiry bail. The leadership of Arise Ghana and our lawyers are in the process of finalizing the bail processes”, he said in a Facebook post.

Sammy Gyamfi, after announcing this, added “Arise Ghana is grateful to the IGP and the Police service.”

Out of the 29 arrested, nine were held at the Tesano Police station, ten at the Nima Police Station, and five each at the Osu police station and La police station, according to the Director of Legal Affairs for the NDC, Abraham Amaliba.

They were arrested for their alleged connection to the violence that ensued between the police and the protesters.
