The driver and bus conductor (mate) of a commercial vehicle have allegedly abused a Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) officer according to narratives surrounding a viral video.

In the video which has circulated on social media, the MTTD officer appeared being subjected to abuse.

He was pinned to a dusty ground and manhandled by two men who narratives describe as a driver and mate.

It is reported that the officer was going about his official duties when the incident transpired.

The action of the driver and the mate has been widely condemned following the circulation of the video yesterday.

“Imagine the police rather did this to the civilian,remember these security personnel’s have families…I’m appalled”, one twitter user said.

Another reacted, “This so wrong,no matter what one have no right to attack an officer in uniform”.

“Most of these mates and drivers are very rude and wicked. So am not surprise”, another said.

Although reports indicate that the two have been arrested, that is yet to be confirmed by the Ghana Police Service.
