U.S. Investors Explore Trade and Investment Opportunities in Ghana

A delegation of investors from the United States of America, led by the Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, His Excellency Ras J. Baraka, has explored investment opportunities in Ghana.
The visit aims to provide the investors with firsthand insight into Ghana’s business environment and opportunities for investment across various sectors of the economy.
Welcoming the delegation during a courtesy visit on June 4, 2026, the Deputy Minister, Sampson Ahi, underscored Ghana’s readiness to attract and support foreign investment.
He highlighted Ghana’s stable democratic governance, peaceful business environment, and strong economic fundamentals, describing the country as an attractive destination for investors seeking opportunities in West Africa and the broader African continent.
He also spoke about the extension of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), noting that the initiative presents significant advantages for investors interested in establishing businesses in Ghana and accessing international markets.
The Deputy Minister encouraged the delegation to explore opportunities in key sectors of the economy, particularly agribusiness, energy, and infrastructure, which continue to offer substantial prospects for growth and partnership.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mayor Ras J. Baraka expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded them by the Ministry and reaffirmed the group’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial partnerships with Ghana.
