Two Arrested Over Kwafokrom Goil Filling Station Armed Robbery

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested two men in connection with an armed robbery at the Kwafokrom GOIL filling station near Nsawam on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

The suspects, identified as Amos Boame and Collins Adjei, were picked up following the attack. Police said a third suspect, known only as Ashivie, is on the run and is being pursued.

During the robbery, the attackers shot a security man and a pump attendant who had taken refuge in an office within the station.

The victims are reported to be in stable condition.

The suspects made away with GH₵13,460 in cash and assorted provisions, the value of which is yet to be determined.

A search of the scene led to the recovery of 19 spent cartridges and one live round of ammunition. Police also retrieved several items from the suspects, including an Alder Tupal pump-action gun with serial number 245A-12944, an electronic shocker, a cutlass, and a bullet vest.

The exhibits are being kept for evidential purposes.

The Eastern South Regional Police Command said efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining accomplices to face prosecution.

Residents have been urged to remain calm, with police noting that they are working with filling station managers to strengthen security measures and prevent further incidents.
