The King Is 75 Years Old Today
The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is 75 years old today, May 6, 2025.
This is a significant milestone in the life and reign of the Occupant of the Golden Stool; however, it is being observed solemnly.
The Manhyia Palace calendar is clear, with no events planned to commemorate the globally acclaimed traditional leader.
This was announced on May 5, 2025, by Baffour Kantankrankyi, a linguist to the Asantehene, at the end of the Asanteman Council meeting at the Palace.
The decision is due to the passing of one of the prominent figures within the Asante Kingdom, Daasebre Osei Bonsu, Asante Mamponghene.
However, persons who wish to pay respects to the King in kind and substance will have the opportunity to do so on May 7, 2025, which will be the fourth Awukudae Festival of the year.
“Anyone who has a gift for the King will have the opportunity to offer it on Wednesday,” Kyeame Kantankrankyi noted.
