Tamale City Exonerated From Claims Of Fielding “Unqualified” Isaac Mensah

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has thrown out King Faisal’s petition against Tamale City over claims that the latter fielded an unqualified player during their Match Day 30 clash.

The game played at the Aliu Mahama Stadium ended in a humiliating 4:0 defeat for the petitioner during which the said player was Captain.

After the game, King Faisal accused their host of fielding Isaac Mensah who they said was unqualified to play.

According to Faisal, Mensah was transferred to Tamale City on loan and should have reverted to his parent club at the time but was fielded. They also claimed Mensah has another registration in the system as Jireh Kojo Nissi.

The Chief executive officer of Tamale City, Mohammed Iddi, denied the allegations.

In a statement on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, the GFA announced its Disciplinary Committee has dismissed King Faisal FC’s protest case.

“The Disciplinary Committee however ruled that the player Isaac Mensah who played in the said match was duly qualified to play.”

“The GFA Prosecutor has however been tasked to investigate the registration of Jireh Kojo Nissi and locate and charge all guilty parties in his registration,” it added.
