Galamsey Fraud: Charles Bissue, One Other Get ₵200k Bail Each

Former Secretary of the defunct Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), Charles Cromwell Nanabanyin Onuawonto Bissue, and Andy Thomas Owusu have been granted bail by the criminal court.
It comes after they pleaded not guilty to 15 counts of corruption-related charges, including abuse of office for profit.
The two secured a ₵200,000 bail each with two sureties, one of whom must be justified on May 6, 2025.
As part of the bail conditions, the passports of both accused are to be deposited with the Registry of the Court.
They are also to report to the Office of the Special Prosecutor once every month.
The case has been adjourned to May 29, 2025 for a Case Management Conference.
Charles Bissue is alleged to have facilitated unqualified companies in bypassing procedures to acquire mining licences while serving as the Secretary of the defunct Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining.
