São Tomé and Príncipe President in Ghana for Next Steps Conference on Reparatory Justice

President of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, Carlos Vila Nova, has arrived in Accra to participate in the Next Steps Conference on Reparatory Justice.

He was received at the Jubilee Lounge by Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, on arrival.

President Vila Nova is one of the keynote speakers at the high-level conference, which is being hosted by Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama in Accra.

The Next Steps Conference is expected to bring together leaders, policymakers and experts to deliberate on reparatory justice and chart concrete actions following global discussions on the matter.

The participation of President Vila Nova underscores the growing continental engagement on reparatory justice, with São Tomé and Príncipe joining Ghana and other African nations in advancing dialogue and policy direction on the issue.
