NSA to Leverage GPS Address to Post Prospective NSS Personnel

National Service Personnel of the 2025/2026 service year will be posted to various user agencies with the help of the Ghana Post GPS address.

Prospective personnel are required to input the digital address as part of the new enrolment features for enhanced integrity.

This was announced by the National Service Authority (NSA) in a statement on June 17, 2025.

“Applicants must provide a valid Ghana Post GPS address, which will be used for distance mapping and regional posting decisions, to guide proximity to the workplace.”

It noted that the accuracy of this information is essential for effective placement.

This is part of efforts by the NSA to eliminate middlemen and “Special Postings” or “Repostings”.

In a press statement issued in April, the Authority called the practice “criminal”, “fraudulent”, “immoral” and “abhorrent”.

“This is a practice where people advertise their services and receive payments from young prospective Service Personnel and assure them of specific places that otherwise should be freely available to all Service Persons.”

“This criminal practice distorts the National Service Postings considerably from several perspectives. This is the practice I promised to clamp down on because it is fraudulent, immoral and abhorrent.”

However, he said the measure will not affect legally recognized processes to change postings.

“I didn’t promise to stifle genuine Repostings, because having worked at National Service for over a decade I know there are also always genuine Repostings that need to be done on different grounds.”
