N/R: IGP Beefs Up Security in Gushegu and Karaga

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Yohuno, has beefed up security in Gushegu and Karaga in the Northern Region.

He has deployed a special team of operational officers and armoured vehicles to the towns to beef up security.

The team will work with officers of the Northern Regional Police Command to intensify patrols and enhance security in the towns and surrounding communities.

It follows recent clashes in the town, leaving the community in a state of fear and uncertainty.

The Karaga District Security imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on the community following a clash between residents of Karaga and the military over a chieftaincy dispute.

This resulted in the death of one person and three injuries.
