Manhyia Palace Museum Announces Temporary Closure for Security Reasons

The Manhyia Palace Museum in Kumasi has announced a temporary closure from Tuesday, April 29, 2025, to Thursday, May 1, 2025.

According to a notice issued by museum management, the closure is due to security and safety concerns.

“We want to inform you that the Museum will temporarily be closed from Tuesday April 29, 2025 to Thursday May 1, 2025 due to security and safety concerns.”

Normal operations are expected to resume on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

During the closure period, visitors and tourists in need of assistance are encouraged to contact the museum through the following numbers: 0593 170 796 or 0278 834 354.

Management has apologized for any inconvenience the temporary shutdown may cause and expressed appreciation for the public’s understanding and cooperation.

The Manhyia Palace Museum, one of Ghana’s most iconic cultural heritage sites, continues to play a significant role in preserving the history and traditions of the Ashanti Kingdom.
