Mahama Returns from Kenya After Africa Forward Summit

President John Dramani Mahama has returned to Ghana from Nairobi, following a successful engagement at the Africa Forward Summit.

The summit was co-hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, and brought together African and global leaders to shape the continent’s development agenda.

During the summit, President Mahama contributed to high-level discussions on energy and green transitions, emphasizing Ghana’s priorities in expanding clean energy access and reducing emissions.

He also participated in a strategic working session focused on strengthening African financial institutions to mobilize domestic resources and reduce reliance on external financing.

In addition, he co-chaired a forward-looking dialogue on rethinking healthcare systems across the continent, exploring ways to build more resilient and equitable health infrastructure post-pandemic.

On the sidelines of the summit, President Mahama held a series of bilateral engagements with global and regional leaders.

These included meetings with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the leadership of the African Continental Free Trade Area, and representatives of the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

The engagements reinforced Ghana’s commitment to global cooperation, trade integration, and sustainable development, and provided an opportunity to advance partnerships that support the country’s economic and social priorities.
