Police Deny Landlord Expelled Officers From Station At Krofrom

The Ghana Police Service has denied reports that personnel stationed at Krofrom CPC have been expelled by the landlord of the house which had been transformed into a police station for the area.

In an interview with Opemsuo radio’s Morning Show host, Agudey, the Assembly member for the Krofrom East Electoral Area and Presiding Member of the KMA, Patrick Kwame Frimpong confirmed that the officers were evicted on legal grounds.

He recounted that the house was hired and turned into a police station 30 years ago by the government and in an attempt to get back his property, the landlord sought redress seven years ago in court.

Kwame Frimpong recalls that a verdict was given three years ago in favour of the landlord and a letter was served on the Assembly three months ago to that effect.

But the Ghana Police Service in a statement on August 1, 2022, said the report was false.

“The Police Service wishes to state that reports circulating in the media to the effect that Police personnel have been locked out of the Krofrom Police station by the landlord are false.”

It explained that the station has rather been relocated “due to the nature of the building”.

But Kwame Frimpong revealed that the police officers who were at the Krofrom CPC station have been moved to Tafo Nhyiaeso Police Station.
