Mahama Eyes Deeper Investment Cooperation In Energy Sector after Hosting UAE Delegation

President John Dramani Mahama has received a high-level delegation from the United Arab Emirates at the Jubilee House, led by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting focused on expanding economic ties between the two countries, with particular emphasis on increased investment cooperation in Ghana’s energy sector.
President Mahama welcomed the delegation and reiterated Ghana’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for foreign direct investment.
He noted that Ghana’s energy sector presents significant opportunities for partnership, especially in the areas of renewable energy, power generation, and oil and gas infrastructure.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed the UAE’s interest in deepening bilateral relations with Ghana.
He said the UAE views Ghana as a key partner in West Africa and is keen to explore mutually beneficial ventures that will support Ghana’s development agenda.
Both leaders also discussed ways to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and partnership between Ghana and the UAE.
They reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation in trade, infrastructure, and capacity building.
The engagement is expected to pave the way for technical teams from both sides to follow up on specific investment proposals and finalise agreements in the coming months.
The UAE has in recent years emerged as one of Ghana’s important partners in trade and investment, with ongoing collaborations in aviation, logistics, and agriculture.
