Judge Orders Extradition of Abu Trica as Case is ‘Fast-Tracked’, Lawyer Says

A judge has ordered the extradition of Frederick Kumi, popularly known as Abu Trica, after his case was fast-tracked, according to Oliver Barker Vormawor, legal counsel for the accused.
In a Facebook post, Mr Vormawor said he was out of Ghana for work when he received news of the development.
“I just heard that the case of Abu Trica has been fast-tracked and a judge has just ordered his extradition,” he wrote.
The lawyer framed the ruling as a tied contest between U.S. authorities and his client, adding, “Hmmm. FBI 1 – Abu 1. I guess this issue goes to the Supreme Court.”
Mr Vormawor did not provide further details on the court, the jurisdiction requesting extradition, or the grounds for the order.
The extradition order comes after the accused was granted bail in the sum of GH¢30 million with two justified sureties.
The case began in December 2025, after he was sought by United States authorities over allegations of romance fraud.
