Female Naval Officer Set For 3.1Km Swim From Busua Beach to Abokwa Island

A female naval officer has announced a 3.1-kilometre swim in support of a fundraising exercise by the Chief of Defence Staff to build a school for special needs children of service personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

AB2 Akutor Sarah will embark on the adventure on Friday, November 21, 2025, from Busua Beach to Abokwa Island in the Western Region.

She also seeks to empower women to embrace swimming and showcase their endurance and resilience.

“To aid the fundraising initiative, the public may donate via the mobile short code *753*10# or the Service Integrity Savings and Loans account number 1100108597800,” the GAF relayed in a statement.
