SSNIT Warns Public Against Fake ‘Mandatory Enrolment Verification’

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has dismissed a flyer circulating that claims employers and employees must make deposits to complete a mandatory enrolment verification exercise.

In a disclaimer issued by Management, SSNIT said its attention had been drawn to the false publication, which is demanding payments for registration and verification.

“The claims contained in the flyer are entirely false,” SSNIT stated.

The Trust clarified that it does NOT require employers, members or the general public to make any deposit, security payment or KYC verification payment to register with the Scheme.

It also does not require payment to verify records or to access any SSNIT service.

“All enrolment, registration and verification processes are conducted without such payment requirements,” the statement added.

SSNIT urged the public to disregard the flyer and to rely only on official communication channels for information on its operations.

It warned that fraudsters often use fake notices to defraud unsuspecting members of the public and advised anyone who receives such messages or is asked to make payments to report to the nearest SSNIT office or to law enforcement agencies.

Management added that it remained committed to protecting members and ensuring that access to social security services remains free of unauthorised charges.
