Ghana, Google Sign MoU to Integrate AI into Education System

The Ministry of Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Google for Education to integrate advanced artificial intelligence technologies into Ghana’s education system.

The agreement was signed on May 19, 2026, by Minister for Education Haruna Iddrisu and Mr Kelvin Kells, Global Managing Director for Google for Education.

It establishes a strategic collaboration aimed at supporting innovation in teaching and learning across the country.

Under the partnership, both parties will work to strengthen digital literacy, enhance teacher capacity, and equip Ghanaian students with skills needed for the future of work in a technology-driven environment.

Hon Iddrisu said the milestone reflects the government’s commitment to transforming education through technology, innovation, and global partnerships.

He noted that the collaboration is intended to position Ghanaian learners to compete effectively in the digital age.

The MoU marks the latest step in ongoing efforts to expand digital infrastructure and training in Ghana’s schools and teacher training institutions.
