Gender Ministry Targets Stronger Case Management as Social Protection System Resolves 89.4% of Cases

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection is making efforts to strengthen case management under Ghana’s Social Protection programmes, building on an 89.4 per cent resolution rate achieved through the Single Window Citizens Engagement Service.
A Sub-Committee Meeting on Case Management, held from May 14 to 15, 2026, focused on improving the Unified Case Management System and clearing overdue cases reported through SWCES as of April 30, 2026.
Stakeholders reviewed referral pathways for faster case resolution and examined upgrades made to the system since the last meeting in November 2025.
Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Chief Director of MoGCSP and Chairperson of the Committee, Dr Marian W. A. Kpakpah, the Director of the Social Protection Directorate, Madam Francisca Atuluk, said the Committee had played a critical role in enhancing accountability, responsiveness, and citizen-centred service delivery.
She noted that eight meetings held since the Committee’s establishment had led to the resolution of 5,358 out of 5,994 cases received, a result she attributed to the commitment and collaboration of institutions and stakeholders.
“These accomplishments reflect the dedication, professionalism, and collaboration exhibited by all institutions and stakeholders,” Madam Atuluk said.
She encouraged participants to draw on their expertise and field experience further to improve service delivery across the Social Protection ecosystem.
The engagement also reviewed existing case management processes and discussed challenges affecting case handling and referrals.
Participants made presentations on annual case management activities for 2026 and received updates on additional features added to the Unified Case Management System and on Service Level Agreements.
In her closing remarks, the Head of the SWCES Unit, Madam Naa-Dedei Antie, said efficient case management was key to addressing social protection issues.
She stressed that the outcomes of the meeting would translate into improvements in the lives of vulnerable individuals and families served by SWCES.
