Foreign Minister Provides Update on Evacuation of Ghanaians In Israel

Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has provided an update on the evacuation of Ghanaians living in Israel.
Data by the Ministry suggests that 922 citizens are in the country with 65 being students studying in six Israeli universities.
In a statement, Ablakwa said evacuation will commence shortly.
“Our fellow nationals living in Israel will be evacuated shortly.”
It comes after his engagement with H.E. Roey Gilad, the Israeli Ambassador on Tuesday during which he conveyed the government’s emergency evacuation strategy for Ghanaians living in the country and sought the onward communication of the strategy to his government to facilitate border access approvals.
Meanwhile, he said the first batch of Ghanaians in Iran have been evacuated to Turkey successfully.
Evacuation has become essential as conflict between Iran and Israel escalates with the exchange of missiles.
