Qatar to recruit Ghanaian Professionals in Its Health, Tourism, IT, Other Sectors- MFA

Qatar has expressed interest in immediately absorbing Ghanaian professionals into its health, tourism, IT, transport and logistics sectors, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced.

This will be done under a ratified Ghana’s Labour Export Programme and the yet-to-be formalised labour cooperation between Ghana and Qatar.

The ratified agreement with the Ghanaian Parliament is expected to be ratified in the next few weeks.

“Ghana and Qatar are also set to formalise our labour cooperation. Qatar has already ratified our labour cooperation agreement with the Ghanaian Parliament, which is expected to ratify in the next few weeks,” he reported in a Facebook post on November 17, 2025, after a meeting with Her Excellency Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al Thani, Undersecretary of the Qatar Ministry of Labour.

The Minister, who is currently in Qatar, also reported his request for Qatar to establish its West African Qatar Visa Centre for labour mobility in Ghana.

“Qatar has commended Ghanaian workers for their impressive work ethic and high standards, as confirmed by many Qatari CEOs.

“The Mahama administration will keep creating opportunities for the Ghanaian youth both at home and abroad through smart and pragmatic policies.”
