Minority Alleges Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu Entered Prison Custody June 24 Under Public Pressure

The Minority in Parliament has alleged that former MASLOC Chief Executive Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu was not in prison custody until June 24, 2026, despite her deportation by the US to begin her sentence on June 9.
Speaking on behalf of the caucus, MP for Manhyia South Constituency, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, claimed that from June 9 to June 24, Tamakloe-Attionu was not in prison custody, a matter he described as “on record.”
He said she was sent to prison custody on June 24, fifteen days after her arrival, which he argued explained why the Minister for the Interior could “confidently come out” the previous day.
According to the Minority, Tamakloe-Attionu is currently held in a female prison within a medium security installation.
The Minority declined to name the facility, citing intelligence that she went in under protest.
Awuah said her assurance had been that she would not be sent to prison custody while efforts were made “around the clock” to have the court decision overturned and secure her liberty.
The Minority further claimed that public pressure compelled the government to deliver her into custody, and that she has been assured she will be released.
“We don’t want them to relocate her. We are keeping an eye on the situation,” Awuah added.
The statement comes amid ongoing public debate over the circumstances surrounding Tamakloe-Attionu’s incarceration following her conviction in the MASLOC case.
