C/R: Woman Allegedly Beheaded by Nephew
A 65-year-old woman, identified as Madam Abena Gladys, has been gruesomely killed by her nephew at Breman-Benin in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region.
According to reports, the suspect, known as Kojo Sam, allegedly launched an unprovoked attack on his aunt around 12:15 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025.
Armed with a pestle, he reportedly forced his way into her room and struck her multiple times before dragging her outside. Witnesses say he continued the assault with a knife, stabbing her repeatedly before beheading her.
Relatives and community members revealed that the suspect had previously threatened to harm the deceased during earlier family disputes. However, the family had decided not to report those threats to the authorities, opting instead to resolve matters privately.
After the attack, the suspect fled the scene but was later apprehended through police intelligence. He is currently in custody, assisting with investigations.
