Cabinet Approves Major Industrial Policies to Boost Manufacturing- Trade Minister

Cabinet has approved major industrial policies to accelerate Ghana’s manufacturing and industrialisation agenda, the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has announced.

Speaking at the Türkiye Africa Investment Forum and Exhibition in Accra on Thursday, June 25, 2026, the Minister said the approvals cover the textiles and garments, pharmaceuticals, component manufacturing, and agribusiness sectors.

“The approvals create a stronger policy environment for businesses and investors to thrive,” Hon. Ofosu-Adjare stated.

She noted that the Cabinet decision signals the government’s commitment to positioning Ghana as a competitive destination for trade and investment.

According to her, the country’s industrialisation drive has gained significant momentum.

The Minister welcomed the participation of Turkish investors at the forum, describing the event as an important platform for strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between Ghana and Türkiye.

Hon. Ofosu-Adjare encouraged investors to take advantage of growing opportunities in Ghana, particularly in the textiles and garments sector.

She urged them to leave the forum with concrete business partnerships and investment prospects.

The new policy approvals are expected to address long-standing challenges in the targeted sectors and improve the ease of doing business for both local and foreign investors.
