W/NR: Impersonating Anti-Galamsey Task Force Busted in Nyankamam-Armori forest

Some armed thugs impersonating as an anti-Galamsey Task Force in the Nyankamam-Armori forest have been busted by the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS).
The thugs, numbering 10 people, claim to have links with the Aowin Paramount Chief, according to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
As part of their activities, however, the Ministry said they operate with impunity and extort monies from Galamseyers.
This, it said, emboldened illegal mining activities in the Aowin municipality.
The said thugs have since been arrested with their weapons and talismans by the NAIMOS Task Force.
They are expected to be handed over to the Ghana Police Service.
