Black Stars Arrive in Toronto Ahead of Crucial World Cup Opener Against Panama

The Black Stars have arrived in Toronto hours ago as they intensify preparations for their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.

The team departed Rhode Island on Monday after a productive training camp in Providence, where they had been based since arriving from Virginia on Thursday.

Under the guidance of head coach Carlos Queiroz, the squad used the time in Rhode Island to further assess his squad and build team cohesion ahead of their Group L opener.

Upon touching down in Toronto, the Black Stars will hold an official training session at BMO Field on Tuesday. The session will give the players the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the match venue and acclimatize to the conditions before Wednesday’s important encounter.

Ghana will open their World Cup campaign against Panama on Wednesday, June 17 at BMO Field. The Black Stars will then face England on June 23 and conclude the group stage against Croatia on June 27.

The arrival in Toronto marks the beginning of Ghana’s quest on the grandest stage, with the entire squad and technical team fully focused on delivering a strong performance and progressing beyond the group phase.
