NSA Probes Death of Ernest Akushey

The National Sports Authority (NSA) says an investigation has commenced into the demise of professional boxer Ernest Akushey, also known as Bahubali.

This was announced in a statement issued on Thursday, September 25.

Extending its commiseration, the Authority called for calm among the general public.

“The Authority once again extends its deepest condolences to the family of the late boxer. We respectfully request that the family be granted the respect and privacy needed to mourn their loss.”

It further assured that a comprehensive statement will be issued once investigations are concluded and the autopsy report has been released.

Bahubali died barely two weeks after his super middleweight bout against Jacob Dickson at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Friday, September 12, 2025.

It is speculated that he may have died from the punches he received in the game in which he suffered an embarrassing defeat.
