Sports Minister Assures Armwrestling Team of Continued Technical And Logistical Support

The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has provided assurances to the Ghana Armwrestling Team for continued technical and logistical support.

It comes after the Golden Arms’ big win at the 14th Africa Armwrestling Championship in Abuja.

The team finished the tournament with 53 medals- 24 gold, 20 silver and 9 bronze.

In a statement, he said the outcome reflects the Armwrestling Federation’s sustained grassroots investment, disciplined athlete development pathway and purposeful partnerships across the public and private sectors.

“These efforts have positioned armwrestling as one of the country’s most consistent medal-producing sports and a source of national pride.”

He further committed to continued support for the team.

“The Government, through the Ministry, assures the Federation and its athletes of continued technical and logistical support as they prepare for the 2027 African Games and other international assignments.”

“The story of the Golden Arms is inspiring. It shows what disciplined athletes, visionary administrators and supportive partners can achieve together. Let us celebrate this success and channel the same collective energy into the next phase of Ghana’s sporting journey.”
