World Cup: Ghana High Commission in Ottawa Completes Distribution of Tickets to Fans in Canada

The High Commission of the Republic of Ghana in Ottawa has announced the completion of ticket distribution for Ghanaian supporters in Canada who will cheer on the Black Stars at the FIFA World Cup.
The tickets were provided by President John Dramani Mahama and have been handed out to beneficiaries across Canada.
In a statement, the High Commission extended sincere and profound appreciation to President Mahama for the gesture, noting that it has afforded many Ghanaians the opportunity to be part of the historic occasion and to proudly support the national team.
Special appreciation was also conveyed to the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, for their invaluable support and efforts in facilitating the initiative.
According to the High Commission, the distribution was carried out through recognised Ghanaian Community Associations and through a fair random selection process from compatriots who registered with their emails in the data collected.
Given the limited number of tickets available, it was regrettably not possible to accommodate all requests received.
However, the High Commission commended the understanding, patience and cooperation demonstrated by members of the community.
The Mission added that should additional tickets become available, further distributions will be undertaken through Ghanaian Community Associations across Canada.
It also assured that the High Commission will continue to make selections from the database of requests received via email through a random and transparent process.
As the Black Stars commence their FIFA World Cup campaign, the High Commission is encouraging all Ghanaians to continue rallying behind the team and to demonstrate the unity, patriotism and national pride for which Ghana is renowned.
