Dreams FC Names Winfred Dormon as Substantive Head Coach

Dreams FC has named Winfred Dormon as its new Head Coach ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
Dormon, who successfully led the team as interim coach during the final stages of the 2024/2025 campaign, now takes full charge to guide the Still Believe lads into a new era.
He will be leading a carefully selected technical team tasked with delivering exciting and purposeful football in the upcoming season and beyond.

Winfred Dormon is a seasoned football coach and former midfielder who played for top Ghanaian clubs such as Eleven Wise, Tudu Mighty Jets, Hearts of Oak, and Great Olympics—where he captained the team before transitioning into coaching. He joined Dreams FC in June 2013 as head coach, having earlier served as assistant to Finnish coach Juha Pasoja.
Over the years, Dormon has gained valuable experience, working under respected coaches like Karim Zito, Vladislav Virić, and Ignatius Osei Fosu. His coaching journey includes roles as Assistant Coach of Dreams FC, Head Coach of Still Believe FC (Division One), Assistant at Accra Great Olympics, Head Coach of Proud United, and Assistant Coach for Ghana’s U17 Black Starlets. He also undertook an internship at German club SpVgg Greuther Fürth and holds several CAF coaching licenses, demonstrating his commitment to professional growth.
His achievements include guiding Dreams FC to gain promotion from Division Two to Division One (2015/16), winning the Division One League (2016/17), and the GHALCA G8 tournament in 2018.
He was also the lead assistant to Karim Zito that led Dreams FC to the semi-finals of the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup. At the national level, he helped Ghana’s U17 team win bronze at the 2022 WAFU Zone B tournament and participated in the GFA/UEFA Assist Technical Development Program in 2023.
Dormon’s blend of local and international experience, strong tactical knowledge, and commitment to youth development makes him a respected figure in Ghanaian football.
