Gold Fields Ghana Pays GHC86.7m In Dividend To Gov’t

The Information Service Department (ISD) has announced that Goldfields Ghana Limited has made payment for the company’s 2022 interim dividends to the government of Ghana.

According to a statement put out by the ISD, the mining company presented a cheque for GHc86,706,450.00 as the government’s dividend.

The cheque was received by the Minister for Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor.

“You were one of the companies which stepped forward to pay dividends even before I was sworn in as Minister and I recall that vividly. So, I use this opportunity to call on other corporate entities to do the same,” the Minister said, according to the Information Service Department (ISD).

Abu Jinapor urged other mining companies in the country to stay true to the payment of royalties.

He also reiterated the government’s willingness to create a conducive environment to enable the mining companies to operate smoothly.
