A/R: GTA To Mark Chocolate Day at Kumasi Zoological Gardens

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is commemorating Chocolate Day by organizing events at major tourist attractions across the country on February 14, 2024. In the Ashanti Region, the chosen venue is the Kumasi Zoological Gardens.

In an interview with Opemsuo Radio’s Kwame Awuah Nimfour,  the Ashanti Regional Director of GTA, Mr Frederick Adjei-Rudolph disclosed that the authority will collaborate with staff at the zoo to engage with visitors and conduct tours of the facility.

According to the Director, every visitor at the Kumasi Zoological Gardens on that day will receive a complimentary bar of chocolate as part of the celebration.

“This year, our team will be at the Kumasi Zoological Gardens starting at 10 am. We will join the staff for a tour of the facility and distribute chocolate bars to all visitors,” he stated.

The overarching theme for this year’s Chocolate Day celebration is “Eat Chocolate, Stay Healthy, Grow Ghana,” with the sub-theme “Explore Ghana, Eat Ghana”.

He emphasized that the celebration of Chocolate Day should not be limited to the Ghana Tourism Authority alone.

“I urge everyone not to assume that GTA is the sole entity celebrating Chocolate Day. Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) can also distribute chocolates, and our traditional leaders can share chocolates while educating their communities about love.”
