5th Awukudae of the Year Observed

The fifth celebration of the Awukukae in the year 2023 was observed yesterday, July 5, 2023 at the Manhyia Palace.

As always, persons from across and beyond the shores of the country visited the Palace to pay homage to the occupant of the Golden Stool, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Before anyone else, the royals in the Kingdom expressed their reverence to the King.

Delegations from government and private institutions, celebrities, associations, politicians, a diplomat and religious institutions were among the visitors.

The Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey Constituency, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings led by the Ing Benedict Atta Poku paid homage to the King. She is a member of the royal line.

As part of Asantehene’s upcoming trip to Trinidad and Tobago, its Honorary Consul to Ghana, Hilton John Mitchell was at the Palace to help towards the preparations and paid homage in the process.

The rest of the visitors included the Asante Presbytery, the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), 2022 Miss Teen Tourism World, Director of Hourhand Watch Co, Patrick Amofah, Robot Builder Kwame Opoku and the former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joana Appiah Dwomo.

Also were delegations from the Ghana Audit Service and Akenteng Appiah-Minka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED).

The celebration will be followed by the 5th Akwasidae on July 23, 2023.

Meanwhile, the next Awukudae will be held on August 16.
