Domeabrahene Chairs Reconstituted Ashanti Regional Lands Commission Board

The paramount chief of Asante Akyem Domeabra Traditional Council, Baffour Owusu Bediako, has been appointed the Chairman of the Ashanti Regional Lands Commission which has been reconstituted.

He was sworn in together with members of the Board on Wednesday by the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon Alhaji Yussif Sulemana.

Baffour served as the representative of the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs on the previous Board.

Also on the reconstituted Board is the Paramount Chief of Sabronum Traditional Council in the Ahafo Ano South-East District, Daasebre Kofi Asante Mensah.

He succeeds Domeabrahene as representative of the Regional House of Chiefs.

The two traditional leaders were introduced to the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on July 2, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace.

The delegation that led the introduction included the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene; the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon Alhaji Yussif Sulemana; the Executive Secretary of the Regional Lands Commission, Prof Owusu Ansah; and the Lands Officer of the Ashanti Regional Lands Commission, Mr Peter Osei Owusu.

He currently serves as the Chairman of the Stool Lands Committee of the Regional House of Chiefs, leveraging his knowledge to drive progress.

Additionally, as a member of the National House of Chiefs’ Finance Committee, he plays a vital role in shaping financial decisions.

His academic achievements are equally impressive. Recently, he earned a Master’s degree in Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

This accomplishment complements his existing Postgraduate Degree in Oil and Gas Accounting from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland.

These qualifications and experiences uniquely position the Domeabrahene to navigate complex issues and provide informed guidance as the Chairman of the Regional Lands Commission.
