STC Interdicts Driver Over Viral Dangerous Overtaking
The Management of Intercity State Transport Coaches Limited (Intercity STC Coaches Ltd) has interdicted a driver captured in a viral video engaging in dangerous driving at Pokuase.
In a public notice, management said it had become aware of a video circulating on social media showing one of its buses involved in an overtaking manoeuvre at Pokuase.
In the footage, the driver attempted to overtake a sprinter bus, made contact with it, and drove off the scene.
“We wish to state clearly that this conduct is unacceptable and does not represent the safety standards and professionalism Intercity STC Coaches Limited upholds,” the statement said.
Management said it had commenced an immediate investigation into the incident, with the said driver identified and interdicted pending the outcome of the disciplinary process.
Management is also awaiting an official report from the Pokuase Police Command to assist in establishing the facts surrounding the incident.
“Management of ISTC remains committed to passenger safety and responsible road use. We thank members of the public for bringing this matter to our attention and assure all stakeholders that appropriate action will be taken,” the statement added.
