Juaben Traditional Council Dismisses Adumasa Enstoolment, Declares Cosmos Asante An Imposter

The Juaben Traditional Council has described the purported enstoolment of Cosmos Asante, alias Yaw Ampong, as Adumasahene by the Aduana Clan of Adumasa as unlawful and without effect.
In a statement dated October 14, 2026, the Council said reports reaching it indicated that on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, the Aduana Clan purportedly enstooled Mr Asante.
The Council stated that the said “enstoolment” does not accord with the customary practices of enstoolment of a chief within the Traditional Area and is therefore unlawful, void and of no effect whatsoever.
According to the Council, Nana Kwabena Konadu-Yiadom is the customarily recognised Adumasahene having sworn the oath of allegiance to the Omanhene and his Elders on 17th August, 2026, followed by the customary aseda at Juaben on 15th September, 2026.
Clarification
According to the Council, a dispute surrounding the Adumasa Stool arose after the death of the then Adumasahene, Nana Yaw Oppong III, in October 2024.
This was after one Appiah Kubi of the Aduana Clan had invoked the great oath of Juaben against the Queen of Adumasa to affirm that the rightful heirs to the Adumasa Stool were the Aduana’s and not the Oyoko’s, to which the Queen belonged.
The Queen responded to the oath, affirming that the Oyoko’s were the rightful heirs.
A 3-member committee appointed by the Council unanimously decided that the Adumasa Stool was indeed the exclusive preserve of the Oyoko Clan.
Following that judgment and the burial of the late chief on August 13, 2026, the duly nominated chief of Adumasa of the Oyoko Clan, Patrick Konadu Yiadom, swore the oath of allegiance to the Omanhene under the Stool name of Nana Konadu-Yiadom and performed the customary aseda on September 15, 2026.
“On the account of the above facts, the said Cosmos Asante of the Aduana Clan, parading himself as the Adumasahene, is an imposter and acting contrary to the established customary norms and usages of the Juaben Traditional Area,” the Council stated.
The general public has accordingly been advised not to deal with him as such.
