We’ve Worked On Our weaknesses; Medeama Captain Assures

The captain of the Medeama Sporting Club (SC), Baba Abdulai Musah says the team has worked on noticed defects and will capitalize on their strength to earn all three points in their game against Al Ahly today.

In a pre-match press conference on Thursday, February 23 the defender said the team is well prepared to face the defending Champions.

“We’ve seen some {of our} weaknesses and we have worked on that. Hopefully you will see some improvement in the squad.”

According to him, a plan has been devised to dominate and win the game.

“We are all ready and we know what to do on the field. We are guided by our coaches and technical team so we are just going to stay with the plan and hopefully we will get the points.”

Technical Director Evans Augustine Adotey indicated that the three points were crucial for their survival in the League and thereby their quest to earn all.

“We are ready for tomorrow,” he reiterated but added, “We are not going to underrate the opposition.”

The Ghanaian side will be scrambling for a hard-to-reach survival in the CAF Champions League when they take on Al Ahly at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The team are bottom in Group D with four points after four games played- one point adrift third-placed Young Africans.

The Yellow and Mauves have won only one of their four games played, lost two with one draw, scoring three goals and conceding eight.

After suffering a 3-0 defeat against the Young Africans in the last game and with just two games remaining, the Ghanaian club will have to marshal all that is required to stay in the league after they were crowned champions in the Ghana Premier League last season.

Their clash against the Egyptian champions is anticipated to be a tough one as Al Ahly is leading the group with six points from one win and three draws.

Gabonese referee Tanguy Patrice Mebiame will be officiating the match with the assistance of Elvis Guy Noupue Nguegoue from Cameroon (Assistant I), Urbain Ondo Ndong from Gabon (Assistant II) and Cregue Fleury Moukagni from Gabon (Fourth Official).

The game will take place at 16:00 hrs.

Nebojsa Kapor’s side will take their last group match in the league away from home on March 1 against CR Belouizdad.
